It featured a large dining room for social functions, several meeting rooms, and even a “Plunge” pool and lounge area, in a building that combined business with pleasure in a dramatic architectural setting. Designed by the prominent firm of Curlett and Beelman, the Commercial Club, later renamed the Case Hotel is recognized as a Historic and Cultural Monument by the City o Los Angeles and is noted for its ornamental facades featuring extensive use of terra cotta for arches and cornices. The building is undergoing renovation for use as an upscale hotel, scheduled to open in 2016.
